GLC takes a holistic approach to helping people identify eco-solutions that benefit their internal and external environment. For businesses, GLC aims to improve productivity while bringing higher profit margins to company owners and operators. GLC's business focus is driven by Adrienne's experience in identifying gaps between business operations and company mission, managing limited financial and human capital resources to achieve optimal service and personnel performance, and improving operational efficiency. For households, GLC strives to educate people about green products and lifestyle choices that can improve quality of life and reduce the impact to our environment.

Green Living Consulting, LLC was formed in 2007 by owner Adrienne Spahr. Adrienne has a long-standing interest and background in environmental issues and sustainable development. Adrienne obtained a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado, where she led the Student Environmental Action Coalition and worked for the Sierra Club. She later obtained her Master of Public Policy from the University of Southern California, focusing on urban planning, transportation policy, and sustainable development. For the last five years she has worked for the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO), the investigative arm of Congress, where she has developed strong evaluation, analytical, and problem-solving skills to better assist her clients in identifying their "getting green" goals, setting realistic and measurable objectives, and effectively monitoring progress in reaching them. Adrienne is a member and active participant of the Green Building Institute and GLC is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. GLC is also a LiveGreen SPOT – a membership organization that makes eco-friendly living and business practices easier and more affordable in DC and beyond by offering discounts on everyday green products and services for consumers.
